And as to my incorrigible Maranao antique dealer, he is on a roll. Or thinks that I am rolling in money. Or wishes to convey to me that people are desperately selling their stuff in order to survive.
He brought me a mother-of-pearl inlaid telephone table and a mother-of-pearl inlaid coffee table early this afternoon. I still don't know where to place the telephone table. I carefully wrapped Kichiro Mayuzumi's cadaver in cotton cloth and wrapped that in a huge sheet of bubble wrap, and the table is currently serving as his funerary stand.
The coffee table is now on top of an existing coffee table. (I've done tables on tables in the past.) No choice now but to temporarily have it serve as a Roald Dahl table.
